Tres intelectuales que trabajan en una editorial de Milán, establecen, por razones en un primer momento profesionales, relaciones demasiado estrechas con autores que se interesan por las ciencias ocultas, las sociedades secretas y las conjuras cósmicas. Inventan, por puro juego, un complejo 'plan', urdido supuestamente por los templarios hace siete siglos y mantenido hasta hoy. Pero alguien tomará en serio este juego y se verán inmersos en una alucinante pesadilla.
