Located in Mexico City, Tatiana Bilbao Estudio is well known internationally for its use of traditional Mexican construction techniques, the highly sculptural effects of its buildings and its unusually collaborative approach toward each client. A detailed study that examines the architecture of Fernando Martínez Sanabria (b. Spain, lived and worked in Colombia since 1938- d. 1991) throughout one of his most recognized buildings: the building of the Caja Agraria (1965) located in Barranquilla. The author examines this commercial project from its initial design process and proposes an analytical view of the building through its anatomical construction systems of light and semi-darkness developed by architect Martínez Sanabria.
