Esta edición de sesenta y nueve cartas inéditas conservadas en el Archivo General de Simancas, la Biblioteca Nacional de España y la Real Biblioteca de Madrid permite arrojar nueva luz sobre los vínculos y conflictos de la aristocracia y el alto clero de la isla de Cerdeña con las cortes de Carlos V y Felipe II. Esta correspondencia, intercambiada entre Jerónimo de Aragall, Antioco Bellit, Jaime Montanyans, Antoine Perrenot de Granvelle y otros destacados personajes de mediados del siglo XVI, comprende el periodo entre 1541 y 1570.
