Sinopsis del Libro

De la mano de María no sólo viajaremos hasta Valencia de Alcántara y la frontera con Portugal, sino también a una época de la historia de nuestro país donde el contrabando era la única forma de supervivencia para muchas familias. En esos años en los que las mujeres no tenían ni voz ni voto, donde sus vidas estaban sujetas a las decisiones de sus padres o a la de sus maridos, María, una mujer de espíritu libre luchará por la supervivencia de su familia cruzando sin descanso la frontera por sus veredas y trochas, y esquivando a los guardias civiles para vivir del mercado negro y el contrabando. Su borriquita será, en muchas ocasiones, su única compañía. María, la frontera y el camino es un homenaje a todas las mujeres anónimas que les tocó vivir en un tiempo sin recursos ni educación, pero que demostraron ser unas grandes luchadoras. Todas ellas merecen ser recordadas por su valentía y su tesón.
