Mořeplavec Kryštof Kolumbus se celý svůj život mýlil. Jeho kreslené mapy byly značně nepřesné, výpočty cest po moři velmi hrubé. Dokonce když se vylodil na břehu Ameriky, myslel si, že je na ostrovu, který patří Číně.
