HISTORIA DEL ARTE DE LA BAJA EDAD MEDIA

Sinopsis del Libro

La obra se estructura a partir de la clásica cronología propia de la Historia que la divide en "edades" -calificada cada una de ellas por un criterio de localización en el tiempo- y, por lo tanto, tiene como fundamento una relación directa entre el hecho artístico y su secuencia temporal e histórica. De esta cronología recibe su nombre: Historia del Arte de la Baja Edad Media, y a partir de esta perspectiva histórica, la asignatura reflexiona sobre todo el periodo gótico hasta la irrupción del Renacimiento. Fundamentalmente aborda el estudio, análisis y definición de los objetos artísticos producidos específicamente por el estilo gótico cristiano, aunque no olvida las manifestaciones que conviven con este estilo gótico, las aportaciones que provienen del mundo islámico y las novedades derivadas de la evolución de la pintura flamenca e italiana, que desembocarán en el Renacimiento.
