El anarquismo es una corriente de pensamiento iniciada a principios del siglo XIX que se transformó en movimiento político a partir de la I Internacional (1864-1876). Los anarquistas, o libertarios, propugnaron la eliminación de cualquier autoridad y lucharon contra todas las formas de Estado. Tuvieron especial arraigo en España, donde contribuyeron a la formación de sindicatos que se estructurarían en la CNT.
