Esta obra está dirigida a cualquier persona interesada en cuidar y preservar adecuadamente objetos de papel como libros, cómics, fotos, grabados, acuarelas y dibujos sobre papel, carteles, sellos, postales y mapas, entre otros. Se trata de una guía práctica ilustrada, de fácil manejo pero rigurosa en la información, realizada por restauradores especializados en papel, que enseña las características más importantes del papel, los principales tipos de papel, los deterioros más frecuentes que afectan a este material y cómo solucionarlos mediante la aplicación de sistemas sencillos de conservación y restauración básica e ideas para exponer adecuadamente estos objetos. El libro recoge 19 ejemplos paso a paso, realizados a partir de ejemplos particulares, pero las soluciones que ofrecen son extrapolables a objetos similares. La obra se complementa con tablas que recogen una serie de consejos de expertos profesionales, a modo de recurso para que el lector pueda desarrollar cualquier proceso o resolver posibles problemas.
