Sinopsis del Libro

Richard Strauss vivió durante dos de los periodos más fascinantes de la historia moderna de Alemania. vio cómo aparecía y desaparecía todo un imperio, sobrevivió a dos guerras mundiales, fue testifo del nacimiento y la caída de la República de Weimar, soportó el Nacional Socialismo y murió el año en que Alemania se dividía oficialmente en dos estados independientes. Y mientras todo esto ocurría, disfrutó de un enorme éxito en su carrera profesional como compositor, como director de orquesta de nivel internacional, como organizador de los derechos de autor de los compositores y como colega y colaborador de algunos de los más importantes compositores, escritores y artistas de su tiempo.
