La autora narra parte de la historia de su pueblo. Una villa poblana que se vuelve atractiva para muchos despus de la independencia de Mxico, cuando el pas estaba en un completo caos. De pronto comienza la inmigracin. Comienzan a llegar familias, abren tienditas, negocios varios. Las familias fundadoras no eran muchas; se empiezan a casar entre ellos dando como resultado que se emparentaran, a tal punto que era difcil conseguir pareja.
