Un abanico de mujeres, que con su singular forma de vivir, llenaron páginas de la historia en una Murcia deliciosamente provinciana. Unas veces despertaron admiración y otras causaron escándalo, pero nunca pasaron inadvertidas. Su mundo estuvo marcado por la época en que les toco vivir, por su raza, su religión o su oficio. Aquí tendrán ustedes un encuentro con santas y mozas de picos pardos, con "mujeres sabidoras" y "cómicas de la legua".

Esta obra pretende acercar al lector a la sociedad gallega de la Alta Edad Media, combinando la rigurosidad científica con un lenguaje claro y accesible a todo tipo de público. Para ello, cada uno de sus capítulos tiene como protagonista aun personaje histórico real, siguiendo un orden cronológico, que sirve como elemento introductorio a los diversos temas que aborda el libro. El autor, Carlos Baliñas Pérez, es doctor en Historia y profesor de Historia Medieval de Galicia en la Facultad de Humanidades de Lugo (Universidad de Santiago de Compostela).
