Nadar

Fotografías de Toledo y de otros lugares (con su gente, sus costumbres y sus acontecimientos) tomadas a principios del siglo XX por el pintor PEDRO ROMÁN.

La obra reúne un conjunto de estilos fotográficos que se van entremezclando en la primera mitad del siglo XX, estructurados en tres períodos: la fotografía artística, momento en el que por primera vez la imagen fotográfica deja de ser sólo producto de la técnica y pasa a formar parte del arte; la fotografía de documento social o fotografía humanista, momento en el que el fotógrafo refleja su entorno cotidiano, la forma de vida y la indumentaria del tipo español y, por último, la fotografía moderna, momento en el que el fotógrafo aprovecha las cualidades innatas del medio...

La fotografía calaría hondo en ellos y sacaría a relucir nuevos intereses: estudios etnográficos, la exploración del mundo rural andino, de las tierras atravesadas por los nómadas asiáticos o las tribus africanas. Entre ellos se encuentran quienes dicen que nacieron siendo fotógrafos, otros eligieron ese camino más adelante en la vida. Comenzaron a tomar fotografías, algunos por pura casualidad.

The charming town of Los Gatos is nestled at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains and is sometimes referred to as the Gem City of the Foothills. It has inspired hundreds of postcard images through the years, many reflecting the areas abundance of natural beauty. As the town and surrounding area grew and prospered through agriculture, logging, and commerce, the local architecture and landmarks became popular subjects. Glimpses of everyday lifechurches, schools, houses, and businessesfurther enhanced the pictorial history the postcards represent.
