As Estrellita leaves her beloved Caribbean island home, she combines all of its features into an ode celebrating its green and eternal beauty.

The tale tells the story of a violent nobleman who has the habit of murdering his wives and the attempts of one wife to avoid the fate of her predecessors. Gilles de Rais, a 15th-century aristocrat and prolific serial killer, has been suggested as the source for the character of Bluebeard, as has Conomor the Accursed, an early Breton king.

Sebastián's parents throw Dorado the goldfish back since he is too big to fit in the fishbowl, but when he loses weight they catch him again and put him in the bowl, where he is safe from fishermen, but Sebastián can tell he is not happy.
