The book nicely pairs children’s growth with the growth of other elements in nature, such as grandpa’s beard or margaritas in the garden. The book uses comparisons and powerful, descriptive words to build children’s vocabulary and language skills. The book’s colorful illustrations are a joy to behold, and the text has a rhythm and rhyme that makes it easy for early learners to remember.
