Las almadrabas suratlánticas para la captura del atún rojo constituyen uno de los artefactos culturales de mayor continuidad histórica de este territorio. Sobre una actividad predatoria permanente se han ido sucediendo distintos paisajes culturales, en función de distintas técnicas productivas, modelos de explotación, sistemas de relaciones socio-políticas y universos culturales predominantes en cada momento.
