Tendencias fotográficas en España entre 1900 y 1940

This is an anthropological essay that studies social dynamics of Mexicos city from the perspective of its inhabitants. An analysis about the relationship of their everyday life with the history of the city is made from questionnaires and the exhibitions of images to a group of people- taxi drivers, traffic cops, deliverymen of goods, students, housewives, street sellers and middle class motorists.

However, the fleeting moment and the uniqueness of it, lend the polaroid a quality beyond its mere merit as a "good" or "bad" photograph. La Mirada (the gaze) presents nine outside their country almost unknown Latin American artist-photographers. The works of the last 20 years range from straight photography to the staged image. This title describes not only gaze of the camera directed towards a specific subject, but also the artistic attitude and mental approach of the nine artists and their diverse views on photography.
