La construcción de la mirada

In this work, which is based on heritage architecture and cultural studies, the relationship between communities and habitat is studied to understand their way of conceiving and inhabiting the urban territory. The book analyses a selection of 10 houses and 14 buildings constructed in Costa Rica from 2000 to 2005 and that represent the current urban San Jose's growth trends. The domestic architecture reflects a higher purchasing power with an appreciation oh natural surroundings, the office and industrial buildings are aimed some at rescuing the historic downtown area while others were constructed in the suburban area of the city. Includes biographies of mentioned architects.

Se presentan algunas ideas sobre el análisis de la arquitectura, entendido como proceso de conocimiento, y sobre el dibujo como lenguaje distintivo, valorando su importancia en la ideación y narración de la arquitectura, para imaginarla, conocerla y darla a conocer.

Contribución a la reflexión crítica sobre el futuro de nuestras ciudades, en particular, la Ciudad de México, a partir de sus centros y barrios históricos. El contexto son las recientes transformaciones urbanas realizadas bajo una lógica que privilegia el lucro.
