An urgent call for us to wake up to the cry for help from a growing number of endangered species, that our children are at risk of not getting to know. This work, in three volumes, not only examines the causes of this loss, the characteristics, distribution, customs and conservation status of species of amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals threatened most of Argentina, but is proposed solutions to this important challenge.

These guidelines were developed through a participatory process involving fisheries experts and managers from governments, the fishing industry, academia and non-governmental and intergovernmental organizations. They provide management guidance on factors ranging from an appropriate regulatory framework to the elements of good data collection programmes, as well as identifying key considerations and measures necessary for ensuring the conservation of target and non-target species.
