Este libro ofrece una selección de algunos de los discursos del político, escritor y profesor sudafricano Alan Paton. Paton fue un hombre comprometido con la realidad sudafricana durante la época del apartheid por lo que en todo momento denunció las injusticias que padeció la población negra en esta época. Los discursos seleccionados, publicados por primera vez en este libro, ponen de manifiesto la ideología del autor y apuestan por un cambio de sociedad en Sudáfrica en la que los blancos y los negros puedan vivir en paz.
