La configuración histórica del paisaje se examina combinando distintas variables: relaciones sociales, derechos de propiedad, transformaciones económicas y técnicas, y características físicas de cada territorio. Trata, en especial, de las repercusiones paisajísticas de las grandes mudanzas agrarias sobre zonas de Cataluña, Aragón, Navarra, Madrid, Andalucía, el País Vasco y Cuba, entre el siglo XI y el XX.
