Desmond Seward nació en París y se formó en Gran Bretaña. Desde que en 1972 apareciera la primera versión de Los monjes de la guerra, ha entrado en la Orden de Malta, lo que le ha dado la oportunidad de profundizar en los temas que siempre le han interesado.
