La arquitectura en el otoño del Renacimiento

De la ciudad utópica del Renacimiento a los problemas de la ciudad postindustrial, de la idea de “ciudad barroca” al Milán de nuestros días, de Alberti a Marx, Cesare de Seta aborda en el presente libro algunos de los hitos que han marcado el desarrollo de la ciudad europea desde el siglo XV hasta nuestros días. Más allá de los planteamientos habituales en las historias del urbanismo, su estudio se concibe desde una perspectiva más amplia, en la que tienen cabida aspectos tales como la ideología, la imagen de la ciudad o el concepto de territorio.

Architectural study on the religious buildings of collective character built by the Jewish community of Buenos Aires in the 19t and 20th centuries and where the synagogues are the best examples. Their choices of architectural styles or languages responded to the historic moment when these buildings were constructed and respond to the preferences of each group according to their origin or its constructors or architects. The study analyses their morphology, mostly monumental, outside the city limits, and loaded inside and outside with ornaments and visible symbols of Judaism.

The book analyses a selection of 10 houses and 14 buildings constructed in Costa Rica from 2000 to 2005 and that represent the current urban San Jose's growth trends. The domestic architecture reflects a higher purchasing power with an appreciation oh natural surroundings, the office and industrial buildings are aimed some at rescuing the historic downtown area while others were constructed in the suburban area of the city. Includes biographies of mentioned architects.
